Characteristics:
A small (12-15”) brown and yellow burrower. Brownish yellow ground color, brownish black saddles, and brownish-red secondary saddles. Some black bands may be rings crossing the belly, otherwise the belly is white and concave. Pupils round. This is a species of the open desert sands. Use range to assist in identification. Oviparous. The hatchlings look much like the adults.
