Florida Green Water Snake

Characteristics:

Adult at 3 to 4 feet, but has been documented at 6 feet in length. Brownish green to greenish brown above, seldom with any darker markings. Yellowish below usually without markings. Some from sFL may be buff to orange red above and below. A row of scales (suboculars) between the eye and the upper labial (lip) scales. Young with strong lateral barring and fainter dorsal markings. Scales strongly keeled. Anal plate divided. Feed on fish and frogs. Ovoviviparous. Litters having more than 100 babies have been documented.
